  Facebook (FB) is an American online social media and social networking website based in Menlo Park, California where users can post comments, share photographs and post links to news or other interesting content on the web, chat live, and watch short-form video. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, along with fellow Harvard College students and roommates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The name comes from the ‘face book’ directories often given to American university students.

The Facebook service can be accessed from devices with Internet connectivity.
